"Prints Charming" at Gasworks Arts Park

As part of kid's holiday program at Gasworks Arts Park, Books Illustrated have curated the exhibition Prints Charming: From the Realm of Australian Picture Books.

This selection of limited edition prints is representative of Australian illustrators' working in a wide range of media, styles and subject matter. Visit the exhibition and lose yourself in the realm of fairy tales and children's stories over the Easter holidays.

Books Illustrated at the State Library and Wheeler Centre's Children's Festival

Books Illustrated had a great day at the State Library of Victoria  on Sunday 6th April celebrating Australian Children's Literature. Inspired by Lucy Goosey many children took home their own art work with feathers flying everywhere!

 

Look! The art of Australian picture books today

With original artworks, sketches and drawings from over 40 Australian illustrators don't miss The State Library's exhibition Look! The art of Australian picture books today. Including artworks by Bronwyn Bancroft, Bob Graham, Leigh Hobbs and Shaun Tan, just to name a few.

The lovely character Lucy Goosey, illustrated by Ann James, was used as the exhibition's promotional image.

The picture book Lucy Goosey was written by Margaret Wild and published by Little Hare Books.

The exhibition also includes videos of ten illustrators talking about, and demonstrating, specific methods they use to create their work. These are listed below if you want to view them online:
