The International Youth Library, Munich, Germany
After Bologna Book Fair we visited the International Children's Library in Munich, Germany, in the beautiful Bavarian Schloss Blutenburg.
This very special library had its beginnings soon after the end of the Second World War.
It was started by a visionary German Jewish woman, Jella Lepman.
Further work by Jella led to the foundation of IBBY (International Board on Books for Young People).
